About Lucy Hawkins and Work Well Oxford
She worked as a Careers Adviser at the University of Oxford from 2011-15, and during this time completed her professional training, achieving a Distinction in her Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Warwick. She also set up a 3 month ‘job swap’ in 2013 which took her to work as a Career Counsellor at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2015 Lucy moved to manage the Careers Consultancy team at the University of Reading whilst continuing her own work supporting clients in individual and group careers support sessions.
Since December 2018 Lucy has worked as a freelance career counsellor, adviser and trainer, following her maternity leave, and values being able to manage her work and the needs of her young family.
Lucy aims to provide accessible and affordable career counselling and careers advice to the community through public courses, and individual appointments.
Lucy’s background gives her particular strengths in:
working with graduate-level clients
drawing from a range of career counselling, coaching and guidance methods to suit each client I work with
working effectively and efficiently in shorter sessions and time-limited courses of guidance
training groups ranging from a handful of people to over 300 (and making it engaging and fun!)
Lucy offers accessible and transparent pricing, and is willing to discuss discounted rates for those who require them through my community practice (based at West Oxford Community Centre).
